boxes apearing and disapearing in ship recognition

can anyone tell me why the boxes which tell where to hit important parts of the ship in the ship recognition book sometimes apear then hardly come back at all

IIRC in the stock/patched game, the boxes appear only when you are within a minimum distance and a good angle of attack. You need the Full Vulnerability mod to have these boxes always available. I am not sure if they are still accurate if you are using any of the NYGM mods, certain areas may have been altered but the boxes should still be helpful.

I believe you need to be within 1000m and close to 90 degrees for them to show. I think they show when you are within 10 degrees of the best shooting degree.

Yes well those boxes didnt show up when those conditions are met. Only on rare occasions when it dont matter, that they show up.
