External View and Zoom

Is there a way to zoom in on the external view (the on using ',' or '.', not the freeview)?

This view seems easier to use than the free view, but it's default zoom is a little too far out.

It's all about prettier screenshots.

you can use the arrow keys to move in and if you click on screen you can move around with the mouse
