Okay, in the poll we had a 70:30 result in favour of an arts/hobby thread where people can link to or directly post the results of their artistic ambitions.

No need to be shy, there is no price to win, no jury to bring you down, it's all about having some fun, learning about the other, and present some works that you like for whatever a reason.

I suggest these items can be posted:

- photography
- collages
- paintings
- drawings

- picture-movies
- real videos
- abstract computer graphic animations

- songs, and pieces of music

- poems
- short stories
- novels

texts in your mother-tongue are welcomed, some can read it then, others not - so be it. You shall not feel hindered by feeling inable to do an adequate translation. I will post a german-language "Novelle" myself later, too.

Since I raised the idea, it seems to be me who must push the starting-button. I do it with this movie, 1:50 minutes, 6.3 MB. Please experiment with your video settings, turning photography into wmv-videos reduces the visual quality, unfortunately.

The photos has been shot over the last twenty years. Some are negatives that I scanned, others are paper prints that I scanned and reworked, some are new digital images, and two or three had been changed massively and turned into "paintings" by using PSP9.

The going of this thread obviously is not in conformity with the poll's result. Bunch of unreliable gangster are you!

I am trying to download your movie but it is so slow at 1.74kb/sec. At this rate it will take a couple of hours to dl. :o

Alrighty then, I'll throw into the pot with this. (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2580476/1/)
It's a piece of fiction based on the Cold War Deluxe mod for Civilisation III, available for download here. (http://www.civfanatics.com/)
It's unfinished, with Chapter three just underway. Although that may be delayed slightly while I rack my brains for a story for the Subsim creative writing contest.

Not a bad little package there Skybird. I particularly liked the image of the horse and the final image at dusk with the brilliant colours of the sky with the clouds. Relaxing stuff.

Thanks, my first attempt ever with movie creator. Sorry for the slow speed, but I can'T help it. I tried five other sites, they even did not work reliably. The sunset picture was made with a 600mm - and free handed. :D Archery and breath-control paid off there.

But remember, guys, this is not Skybird-in-the-spotlight-thread. It was meant as a stage that is free to all to step onto! :yep: Show us what you are made of! (said the man). Tell us all about you! (said the lady). :-j

Reading now ;) Berlin, eh!? I will check for the correct locations.

Hm, you are right, Konovalov, the speed is a pain, it was better yesterday.

Does anyone know a better working free hosting site? I tried several, but they all were very bad so far.

Patience, Skybird, patience. :) My masterpieces are forthcoming, but the selection process is extremely tough! :D

...Show us what you are made of! (said the man)...
It is not only my contractual obligations to design with a 3D software, but it's also one of my hobbies; here have a peek of my work:

Yep, nice stuff to ear and to look at, but I have not finished reading Electricfox's story. ;)

Here, more artistic work by me:
http://www.nettouring.com/images/public/soundclips/Soundclip_Demos.zip
(P.S. They are encoded in OGG and the whole zip file is over 12mb)

Nothing special, they are simple 30 seconds sound clip demos of my work in progress. Each of them is far from being finished but at least you can have a taste with these demos. These sound tracks are made specifically for multimedia usage, such as video background music, intros and stuff like that; you wouldn't turn the volume up in your car for sure.

Okay, I toss another chip into the pot and make true my threat to link a text in my mother-tongue, German that is. So the audience will be extremely limited  It's a 90 pages short novel, set in England after WWI, and could be carefully described as "mystery meets mainstream". It's all a bit old-fashioned, but that is intended. Title is "Picknick in Avalone", but that does not mean it is fantasy-style.

I recently got a very nice processing pedal for my guitar which includes a drum machine, and I've decided to write a bit of music - appropriately odd, considering my tastes and personality. It's very easy to overlay tracks over top of each other and I just play all the parts myself :)

Here's something I did this afternoon:

20,000ft over Rub al-Khali (http://rapidshare.de/files/21386807/20_000ft_over_Rub_al_Khali.mp3.html)

Way to go! Spherical, somehow.

And better hosting service you found. Have set up my own stuff at rapidshare, too, now.

Ok, here's some stuff I've done over the years:

Music (http://www.kolumbus.fi/EternalJii/TA_Site/Index.htm)
Electronic, mostly ambient/chill-out type of stuff. Nothing overly professional. (But hopefully you can crank up the bass )
One song is actually a story about life on a U-Boat  (I nicked the samples from SHII.. shh.. don't tell anyone)

Writings (http://www.kolumbus.fi/EternalJii/Whatever/Index_EN.htm)
All kinds of more or less weird stuff that has leaked out of my head. English and Finnish.
Some of the stuff is just poems and some are more like lyrics to non-existing songs.

Photographs (http://www.kolumbus.fi/EternalJii/Gallery/Random_images/index.html)
Nothing artsy. I was just cycling around the city trying out my new camera.

So many of your poems are about pain, darkness, despair - do you Fins really have too little light up there? :-j Listened to one of the albums. Opinions welcomed? For a momentary listening I like them, but I would add some more diversity and melody to them, for they become repetitive. They are more like sound environments, less like music tracks, I think. Intentional? Hang on to it. There is something in it.

Quite possibly  But then again.. now it's summer and we have light 24h/day.. :88)

Yep, they are more like soundscapes rather than melodic songs.. so it's all intentional.
