I was getting in the car today when I noticed a penny on the seat. I picked it up and saw it was Canadian, for some reason I flipped it over and saw a man’s face on it. I knew there should be the Queen of England on it and thought it was strange so I flipped it over and saw the date was 1941.

The coin was minted at ‘KC’ the inscription reads: “Georgivs VI D : Rex : Et Ind : Imp :

Anyone have any idea what this might be worth if anything? And what does the inscription mean? And why is ‘George’ Spelled funny?

...

I think the fighting in the "soviet" thread made me strangely absent-minded! I totally misread the original post , sorry :88)

Otherwise, I really don't know. Kapitan, help! :dead:

'Georgivs VI D.G:Rex : Et Ind: Imp' stands for 'Georgius VI Dei Gratia: Rex: et Indiae Imperator' in Latin, which translates to 'George the Fifth, by the Grace of God: King, and Emperor of India'.
