I am running Der Teddy Bars excellent damage mod, and love it, the other night I played the Victorious single mission. Well I wa spotted by the escorts and dived, I managed to evade them but the carrier was doing 15 knots and zig zagging.
Well I loosed off 4 eels at over 1000 yards, aiming for the middle of the carrier.
First eel missed 2,3, and 4 all hit the port bow area, all evenly spaced. Well it took time but she started taking on water then the speed dropped to 14 knots, the bow dipped lower, by the time it was level with the water the ship was down to 9 knots and the props were comming out of the water. She eventually sank, vertically, what a sight.
Now I would have expected that the captain would have ordered the engines in to reverse to ease the water pressure in the damaged areas and give the damage control parties a chance at saving the ship, why was this sort of behaviour not modelled in the game ?

The AI is hard coded so it will just keep on going no matter how silly it looks

The AI can be so stupid sometimes. I was in dover last night hitting a CL and troop transport. Because i was inside the port the destroyers could circle. Therefore they kept hitting walls. 4 destroyers were up against a wall with their engines going forwards and backwards like a yo-yo. It was amusing at first but oh so stupid.

The price you pay for having a computer opponent.
