Greetings all,

Just a quick question about carriers. Are they just included as extra targets or do they really provide aircover over the convoys they are in?

Yes, all carriers have their own airgroups, and they do work - tested and proven :yep:

I remember I made an aborted attempt at Scapa Flow one time. I was limping back home when I started getting buzzed every 30 minutes by planes.
It was early in the war for that, so I knew it had to be a carrier in Scapa.

I went back and sunk the b*tch.

very much proven :stare:

Just watch the hell storm that a CVE and a CV can bring on you when you make a failed attack on their TF

I did the same thing. And I had external cam enabled. When i sunk the b%tch, she had taken a few hours to go down, and I did a scan around the harbour with the ext. cam. I saw like fifty, or a hundred burning spots - like downed planes! I was amazed - I assume that the planes in flight (in the hundreds) all circled around the downed carrier, ran out of fuel and crashed. Is this possible? Based on the number of planes that attacked me from the carrier on my approach, there is no limit to the total number on a carrier. Maybe there's a few hundred in flight at a time?
