This article leads beyond the Islamic theme the headline is adressing. It is also about the increasing censorship in the West, freedom of expression, and the bending of the meaning of names and terms.

Hasn't it been a common habit to call The Observer a "leftist" newspaper? for a leftist newspaper, this article is surprinsigly "hard" and uncompromised, I think.

What matters is that the supposedly liberal states of Europe are showing an indecent eagerness to reach for their lawyers.

A trend in Germany, too. whenever a party was not able to see it's demands through, it know runs to germany'S high court and makes it a court issue that they did not get their will.

You should always pay your enemies the compliment of taking them seriously. The EU can't understand what its enemies are saying, because it won't call them by their right name.

Today's definition of "having consensus": bent it until no more form is left. That way everyone can see anything in everything. All are using the same names and terms, but everyone is meaning something different with them.
