HELP!- Crash to desktop.....After a long mission

Hi all,
I hope there is a fix for this. I have been out on a long mission into the med and am about 25 saves through the mission, when I try to load up a saved game, I get to the initializing screen, that fades, then the game crashes out with a send an error report message then I get booted out to the desktop.

I have tried loading the last but one mission and the same thing happens.

Can I fix it???

Or do I have to go back to the save in base before mission and start again?

I reeeeaaaaallllly hope I don't have to.

Game give u the error message,right?well if u post it here maybe,just maybe we can help..But u r lucky I was kicked to desktop without any message at all..just "Not so long ago" text and then ZAP im back looking at my nice desktop..
Try to revert to save before that 1 ...It worked for me couple of time BUT not allways :damn:

Thanks for the reply, I was going to use that emoticon too..

I have now re-started the mission. But I do have the ole files still. I tried putting the last save back into the folder with my new mission's saves but they showed up as starting at the wrong date, so I didn't load them.

It would be interesting to know what all the saved games filesare, how they workand what they are for.

It would be good to know how you could past in saved games from a broken mission save into a new "fixed" (re-started) mission if you know what I mean..

I wonder what breaks?

Thanks anyway, I am doing marginally better on tonnage on this mission anyway, but last time I sank loads of warships...

What gives you the most renown, tonnage or warships?

LOt of things can get screwd...It depends on many factors:What mode did u used...did u sink ship lately,are u damaged,weather,are u close to port....

But i dont think it is so easy to just swap files from 1 save to another...Maybe it is..but im gonna do some checkings then i will reply again... :up:
