I'm REALLY getting tired of having Firefox crash all the time. I have 1.5.0.2. I've been using Firefox since 1.3. I like the browser but it crashes SO much. Every time it updates I hope it will be fixed. The crashing seemed to start one 1.5 hit the scene. It doesn't seem to matter how much I uninstall and reinstall. Anyway, how is IE7 beta 2 coming? I'm a bit apprehensive to download a beta. Does anyone know when the final build of IE7 will be available? One thing I noticed while looking at it yesterday was that it said to uninstall IE7 beta 1 if you have it installed. I don't have it, but do I have to uninstall IE6? I thought you couldn't uninstall IE? IE makes me nervous when uninstalling it, because the last time I tried it (on my old WinME machine), the whole computer screwed up. Granted I just thought I had fixed it after a homepage hijack, but I still don't see how it would have messed up. All I did was try to repair it. I'm thinking I may just wait until the final version of IE7 before I download it.

You know i rarely have Firefox crash, and im using 1.0.7.

I have noticed a few crash's lately though, but ive noticed something. It's alawys when accessing MSN / microsoft related web content. Personnaly i think MS has upgraded some of their web features or something, and as a result, either intentionally or unintentionally firefox isn't liking it.

Regardless, i personnaly wouldnt ever go back to IE unless someone held a gun to my head. Any version of IE has so many intrusion point's into your computer its sickening. Sure, firefox isnt the gem it used to be. Web campaigning to use firefox ensured that (got the attention of malcious code writers), but it still a heck of a lot safer the IE.

I agree with Ducimus. :yep: All my friends working with computers and are real pros say that Firefox is the best option for a normal PC user.

FF 1.0.7 was the last version of FF that ran stable on my system. FF will crash anytime, anywhere for me. It can be here at Subsim or one of the other forums I visit.

I tried Opera 9 just the other day. I thought it sounded good. Turns out, I still like FF better. Opera didn't run some flash sites as well as FF.

Speaking of which, does anyone ever have any flash problems with FF? Sometimes they seem like they are out of sync or something on FF. Take Kubota's website for instance. When I use the flash version and look at one of their tractors, the flash doesn't line up with my mouse. Maybe those with FF could try it. I think this only started when FF 1.5 came out. Does the site work for you guys running FF? Be sure to use the flash version of the site.

Another thing with FF, I have Quicktime installed, yet when I go to sites that use it, I still get the message that I need to download it. Why does that happen?

I just completely reinstalled FF again. I delete the FF folder in Program Files, so maybe that will help it to run better. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed. :-?

I can't get Flash to work at all with FF.

When I go to any flash site it says I need to install the plugin so I click on the message and it searches for the need plugin, when I click install it tries and then gives me the install failed message.

When I choose manual install it sends me to Macromedia's download page, I click the download button but I get the "This page can't be found message." It's like the page doesn't exist.

I use FF and haven't had any crashes unless I have about 20 tabs open at the same time..

FF's security options are simpler...IE is more complex.

I had ie7 beta1, and it was fine for first 2 months, then started goin beserk on me. I uninstalled it, and installed ie7 2-----and it made ie71 look good. Windows slam shut, links won't open....etc.
---you don't need to uninstall ie6 if u install ie7.

I think the final ie7 might be great, but for now....its rather buggy.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks.

Thanks, Gizzmoe, for the link. I reinstalled Flash from that location yesterday and it doesn't seem to have changed anything. I uninstalled, then reinstalled.

That's the site I'm directed to and that link doesn't work.

I get "Serve cannot be found"

IE6 was able to install it. Firewall is configured properly.

In fact if I turn off FW for a few seconds it still doesn't work.

Yea it is, i deleted it practically for the same reasons. Opera is a good browser & is improving on every build.

I'm trying IE7 on one of my computers, looks like it hoses stuff worse than FF.

If you have IE7, does the Tanksim link in the top right work? I click on it and nothing happens. :hulk:

Wow, and when I try to visit my Raiders new site, IE7 crashes!

Not very encouraging for Microsoft (or web designers who have real jobs and lives :( )

Yeah, Kiwi, been my favorite team since I was 10. They haven't been much good over the last 15 years though :(I grew up a Niners fan so I know how you feel Neal. :D

I still remember when the Niners had Young, Rice, Watters and Sanders. Then eventually it was just Young. We had a running joke:
“Who has the most rushing yards on the 49ers?”
”Steve Young”
“What’s his position?”
”Quarterback!”
 ;)

(Talking about the San Francisco 49ers here Kiwi) ;)

I watch amercian football sometimes on Sky, its a pretty exciting game to watch although i dont understand the rules yet I find myself jumping up and down at times cheering whatever team suits me. That guy who has to catch the ball hes a very brave man especially when theres 5 brutes ready to pounce on him :) - Its better than our rugby.

If you ever find yourself in the Houston area in the fall, let me know, I'll BBQ some ribs and break it down for you.

What a nice bloke :yep: Im a big eater so better make those big ribs ;)

Thats what attracted me to the game, the uniforms are blardy cool. Helmets, padding, not to mention those cheer leaders ;) i like it how all they need to do is run pass the post to score. In rugby you can run past the post but if you dont put the ball on the ground then its no score. Many times this has killed a game, a player gets past the post but then fumbles and drops the ball. :nope:
