Don't know if this has been posted already, but a Ukranian woman took a trip to some areas affected by Chernobyl and made a webpage about her trip. It is very interesting. I like the song that she posted in the Afterwards section of the site.

There's no need for it to be a hoax. Buy this month's National Geographic Magazine. Chernobyl is the cover article. Sad but interesting reading.

You can get two people on a bike you know.
I wouldn't call it a hoax. Her daddy obviously knows people in the right places.
If someone want to see how Chernie looks from backsit of motorbike, click here for video of my pillion passenger.
The article should be a sobering read for most of us, to say the least.
Cheers Porphy

She took the usual tour. I forget how much it cost her, but it still made for a good read. Some of the places, such as the abandoned town, she did not visit -- just borrowed some photos from someone who was authorized to go there. The pictures were interesting, and pretty sad. It's also sad that Soviet Russia was doing experiments on a power production plant, but I guess it takes a significant disaster to make any kind of progress.
When hurricane Katrina went through, we had all kinds of sensationalist stories in the liberal media (CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NYT, LAT, etc.). People cooped up in our big cities get really bored, and I don't doubt that she also suffered from the ailment. Guess she likes motor bikes. I think Jay Leno likes "classic" cars. To each their own.
A mate of mine wrote this article on Chrnobyl for H2G2: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A2922103, it may be of interest to some
