what does the arrow in the scope mean when i have a target in my crosshears. sometimes it is yellow and sometimes it is green. I'm new to this game.

Its a little indicator you get when you have automatic TDC enabled. It's basically a visual aid to say,

"don't shoot yet (yellow arrow) and, "Shoot!" (when green.)


A better thing to look at is the gyro indiactor. you want as close to 0 gyroangle you can get. You can generally fire within (and not to exceed) 15 degree's before a 0 indicator and not have a foul solution. Once your past 0 degree's may as well, not shoot. I generaly shoot within 5 degrees (usuallyl like 3 to 4 degrees) before a 0 gyro angle to account for the delay that occurs between torpedo's when shooting a salvo. One torpedo seems to equite to a 1 second delay.

As you play longer you will notice the arrow has 4 different colors with different meanings.
Red=no chance of hitting target
Orange=little chance of hitting target
Yellow=fair chance of hitting target somewhere near aim point
Green=very good chance of hitting target at aim point.
