Well, considering how badly swamped the official Oblivion forums are, I thought I'd post these here. If I posted them there, they'd be on page 3 before I even hit the submit button.

I especially liked the second one. It was a great view from that rock by the lighthouse in Anvil. I actually had to turn off AA to take them, for some reason. The game won't do screenshots with it turned on.

Too bad I can't actually play the game with this much detail. It utterly kicks my system's ass and comes back for more. Definately some of the best graphics I've seen in a game before. The code is pretty tight, so it's not shoddy programming to blame. The game is just that demanding. Anyway, enjoy :)

yes, the detail is brilliant in this game. Me to can't play it on high detail and im running a 6800gt 256ram! Need something like two 7800GT in SLI mode.

I refuse to touch this game, just like I didn't ever touch Morrowind!

Because I know for a fact that the moment I start playing it will be the end of my life and career

And for Gods sake stay away from Eve.

Not getting this one soon, I'll need a better graphics card first. But Galciv2 and a few (well, dozens) older unfinished games should keep me busy. Still have to finish Morrowind anyway... :P

I do notice that they render to a low-resolution texture for the water reflection effect.

And the trees seem to be missing in the mirrored image of the hill on the water :)

Eve is that space sim right? Silly question but is it good, and are there monthly fees to play this online.

These ever increasing harware requirements are getting totally out of control!!! I have an AthlonXP 3200, 512 RAM, 6800 Ultra and I can hardly play FEAR, Battlefield 2, or even NFS Most Wanted! :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn:
The need to concentrate on debugging and streamling code instead of trying to be the the game that crammed the most eye-candy that will BSOD or crash. :nope: :dead:

Well, I have nearly the same configuration, except I have 1 GB of RAM. I run all of those games quite well. On a sidenote, FEAR is greatly overrated. What is supposed to be special about it? The graphics aren't exactly stellar, the gameplay is linear and that's pretty much it. Worst money I ever spent.

Look at this way, in a few years, you'll be to revisit all these games and they'll seem completely different with all the eye-candy! :)

Probably 512 ram is probably the minimum requirement. Try going one or two gig.

Later this year comes Gothic III and the eye-candy will jump up again

I agree, but with your system specs you shouldn't have problems with BF2 or Fear, hell my cpu is lower than yours and i dont get bsod playing those games. Upgrade to 1gig of ram and if you still get bsod, you possibly got a heating problem.

You should never get a BSOD, in any case, due to flaws in a user level program like a game. If the hardware isn't good enough, it can run slower or not at all, if it has bugs it may crash, but it should never take the OS with it. A BSOD may indicate bas OS programming, bad driver programming, or faulty hardware. Of course, current quality standards being what they are, those things would be expected.

Also Overclocking your CPU will give BSOD if clocked to high or not clocked properly.

But anyways a patch for Oblivion is in the making for the PC and 360.

1200 mods and counting for this game. Damn, they do work fast. The TES Construction Kit helps I suppose. :)
