The title of the film says "rocket boots", but they are actually small jet engines. The boots weight 3 kilograms a piece.

new millitary applications there I recon :yep: I mean If the guy could maintain altitude until his fuel ran out, surely there's some aspect of insertion by air that would benefit from this? And at altitude the noise would be un-noticable

I have to say that these, like flying cars, are a pretty silly idea. I see people that have a hard enough time walking. I sure wouldn't want them flying.
