What have you done in your life thats been bad or worthwile?

This is mine:

Rasputin once said "without sin there is no life" its true although i am fairly religious i live and work by my rules, they are my main principles in life ive used them throughout and they work.

I hold dear to me words of my mother, even at the moment of dispare when she finaly, after 16 years admited to my face she didnt realy want me as a baby.
But its what she said after that made me think of all this and what ive achieved and yet to achive in my life.

Upon telling me she didnt want me as a baby she also said "but im glad now, i didnt realise it at the time, but i realise it now."

The words my mother sent me before i left my home at the age of 13 i held and still keep to this day;

"Never do your own dirty work" this was the family rule wasnt there cant be accused of it thats the basic meaning of it.
Not only does it mean get some one else to do the bad things, but it is a diffrent kind of quote more never get into trouble.

"Always strive to achive even if it means cutting corners" My mother has always said that making the best of life is the most important thing, you live it once, you get one chance, therefore you take every chance that comes your way and never give in, never be defeated.

As a child i never understood why i was here, never asked questions got on with life like a normal kid, but as i grew older i began to think of my purpose here, and what my meaning was.

At the age of only 5 i began to think a career at sea was for me this dream has lasted for over 13 years and i still activly persue it, and now its come to the crunch, im due to leave my home for a totaly new place a new life.

My family has always been around and near never further than a short walk, but its time to go stand on ones two feet.

I didnt ask for life to be simple just easy enough to live.

One of my neighbours' husband was the man who executed Rasputin!
Kapitan I read your piece and I wish you the best of luck in your future career.I certainly would not wish to be told by my mother that I was not wanted.

Now I would just like to clarify that I never executed Rasputin, either. :shifty:

Due to the fact I am only 38 years old it’s far too early to write my autobiography. I may think about if I retire at 65 sorry 67 hang on 70 no make that 85. What the law has changed again to 100 you’re joking thud too late. Well it now looks like a no chance so what’s new?

None of you bit on my stating that the deceased husband of a neighbour executed Rasputin.
In 1917? the russians were wavering in there continued presence in the Great War.Rasputin was a favourite with the Tsarina due to his healing powers. He was also keen that Russia should exit the war-which would have made things difficult for the allies.Elements from the UK who were in the embassy terminated him,the actual shooting being done by my neighbours late husband. If you google enough under the name Rainer you may find more information if you are interested.
Unfortunately I never met him and the story only came out in the last couple of years

"executed" doesn't sound right.

Rasputin was poisoned, stabbed, shot, strangled, drowned. In that order. :yep:

Hm, that procedure could have been designed by me...

CCIP ,I did omit a lot of the detail because I do not have it to hand. The poisoning took place in a prince's apartment. The prince had known Rainer at Oxford. As you correctly say he was then assaulted in various ways as part of the execution.Rainer was the one that shot him.

Yes, I'm more or less aware (didn't remember that name, though!)

I think it's more of a comment on Rasputin and his... survivability. The story of his death is sort of a legendary scenario - I mean, after all that, they still found water in his lungs (meaning he was still alive when they dropped him in the icy river!) :dead:

I thought it was. Now I feel let down. All I've got left is my failed chess strategy.

Well, I told you you would get poisoned, stabbed, shot, strangled, drowned. In that order. Have I spoken the untruth? :smug: :-j

Like most of you I never took a shot (or stab) at Rasputin either (just to make my position clear).

One of the worthwile things I've done in my life is to never have to quote Rasputin.
Go on living a worthwhile life, you're doing fine, resist the temptation, hold on, Queen of Quotes, Lady of Links!

Well, to be accurate, it ended with the point at the end missing.

But I get your point.

And I didn't notice it until you pointed it out.

We were all happily denying taking part in the muder of Rasputin - although Skybird made the point that might have designed (t)his particular gruesom murder - when Kapitan took a different viewpoint and went OT to point out his general ambition.
As from that point the discussion started to be pointless,,,,,

@ Kapitan:
I didn't know you had a general ambition, apart from making 6000 postings.
I thought you would have an admiral ambition.
But a general ambition is also admirable...

...poisoned, stabbed, shot, strangled, drowned

So either Rasputin posessed superman powers or his killers were extremely incompetent at their work....

Nothing i'd be proud of...
