Before GW, I was a huge fan of RuB and IuB and I have to admit I was a big cissy for saving and reloading all the time. My career was just entering 1941 and I had over 600,000 tonnes to my credit-boooooring.

Since then a little gem of a supermod known as Grey wolves has shown me the light, and having become quite proficient setting up and firing my eels manually I have decided to start a new mid-war career. so, fellow subsimmers may I present to you, Leutnant zur See Heinrich Leffler and the crew of U-540, from the 10th Flotilla, Lorient. Just back from their first patrol with seven pennants flapping in the sea air and 40,000+ tonnes to their credit. 1943 is a bad year for the U-bootwaffe, but with boats like U-540 roaming the Atlantic, the Allies will have their hands full.

This is my first real dead is dead, no reloading career, and starting off mid '43 I have a feeling it's going to be very difficult to stay alive. Wish me luck!

Good man - always happy to hear of another convert to DiD. And manual targetting - nice. Sink one for me.

Thanks for the heads up on the trawler fix.

My bro has refused to play SH3 after discovering this bug and wont go back until it's been fixed. Maybe I won't tell him for a while, more playing time for me! :ping:

Ta for the words of encouragement all, DiD rules and manual targeting is easy for those who still feel daunted by it. Trust your fellow Kaleuns, it's not that steep a learning curve and now I can hit almost 100% of the time given reasonable conditions.
