I've reinstalled twice and I'm using the US DVD version of the 1.4b patch and it says it can't identify the version. Don't tell me it won't work on this new special gaming computer... :damn: :(

By the way if you think it has to do with specs...
EVGA NVidia GeForce 7800GT (not sure about overclocking)
Athlon 64 X2 4800+ @2.4GHz (regular speed, non-overclocked)
2 GB Corsair Value Select memory

Try the European version of the DVD patch, several people have had luck using that one.

Tried that too. Same result... :damn:

Try putting in version 1 first, then 1.4 or the top of that. I heard that then it will work.

If you are running any mods, ensure that you roll them all back to the stock settings before patching.

Even if you have uninstalled the program, there still remains some details (career stuff) in your My Docs folder.

So rollback all your mods, then patch, then mod.

Also, when you uninstall, delete everything. The uninstall will prompt you with something like "Do you want to save career data?" No. If you do want to keep it, back it up first, then uninstall and delete it, then copy it back after you reinstall and patch. That's an old issue (back when we were patching from 1.0 to 1.1 I think), but it may still apply.

Deep Six is right. W hen you do a uninstall, do a clean uninstall. Look for anything that has anything to do with SH III on your computer. After you uninstall look in your programs folder, and you will see that the UBISOFT folder is still there. You must delete that folder. Uninstalling will not remove it. Reinstall, and then your 1.4 patch will work. Sorry about the previous mistake. You do not have to put in the first patch first!!!!!
