Is there such a manual and were to get it? Would be nice to read about rules of engagement and tactics that are historically accurate. :hmm:

Yes there is......you can find it on Amazon.com It was standard issue for the u boat kaleuns.....interesting stuff in there along with common sense stuff like avoiding surfacing with your periscope up.......who does that?? :roll:

I consider the U-boat commander's handbook to be essential and was one of the first U-boat books in my collection.

As a further note... the one that is widely available was written in 1943... after the Germans had some time to find out what works and what doesn't... following actual experience in battle.
