OMG i forgot all commands

Sorry, i did not play SH3 for a year ...
I have just installed SH3, patched it to 1.4b and installed the Grey wolves mod. All looks good, i can start everything, ok (Nice work "b.t.w." !!)
I changed the main cfgs in a way that i can accelerate time to 64x above shallow ground, and set overall time compression to 2048 - works, ok.

But:
1. Back then after some patch from Ubi i was able to see the U-boat from outside, but the camera was "glued" to it, other than the default free camera F12, where i have fixed position, and see the boat pass. So what was the key for the "glued" camera ?
2. Back then i was able to roam around freely inside the sub, now i can only change the point of vision to change the angle, so i'd need the keys to roam around (move back, forth, sideways etc.)
3. Using the deck gun it feels like a pea shooter, i'm not even able to down my four ships in the training missions with that (?)

With the deck gun, are you aiming for the waterline? It seems to help.

1. Use the "<" and ">" while in free external view (F12) to cycle through all contacts until your U-Boat is selected. This will "glue" the camera to your U-Boat.

2. Shift-F2- Internal Free camera view

3. It can take me a long time sometimes to down a vessel with the deck gun, sometimes a good sized cargo will never go down with DG for me! :damn:

How do you change the config file to allow time compression while in shallow water? I hate waiting forever to get out into the open water while cruising out of Lorient. Thanks!

I did not run SH3 because i was unable to use my Toshiba DVD and Ricoh CD writer with the SH3 copy protection installed, since i had to create a lot of CDs due to my job this was a no-go. It seems to work with the new LG DVD writer though. Will not turn this into a "he who may not be named" thread lol.

Time compression (Don't know whom to give credit for, whoever posted that first - thanks!):
To have more than 1x TC when in the proximity of land. Change:
sh3\data\cfg\main.cfg
and
\documents and settings\username\sh3\data\cfg\main.cfg.
Both have a setting named LandProximity.
Set both to 64. Then you can TC up to 64x even near land.

To get time acceleration to more than the standard 1024x:
Go into C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\main.cfg and alter the value for maximum time compression to 2048. This allows you to use time compress of 2048x.

However there's still a question - i used to remove all menus and text etc. for screenshots when in exterior view, how did that work ?

I guess you should be able to down the ships with the deck guns in the deck gun training mission, so I guess that must be an issue with GW mod.

And for the heck of it: Ctrl-Numberpad Del - Remove the orange marker from the ocean surface when submerged for screenshots

By the way, the Wiki's Shortcut Keys list is very complete nowadays, and lists all the hotkey questions you've mentioned. I recently read through the whole thing, and discovered new shortcuts I previously didn't know existed!

Thanks for the time compression tip, saw it a couple months back on another posting, but I was just starting playing this game and didn't consider it at the time. But now I wish I had it, but was too lazy to go back and try to find it, so that was a help!
