Is this the one you are talking about: http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/enigmasim.htm
I have included a number of coded messages in my game but only for the purely visual immersiveness, there is no way in-game to decode them. tThis is a real pity as it would have added hugely if you received specific coded messages which had to be decrypted and were revelent to your mission.

Yes, just run your simulator in the background and switch tasks. Perhaps You can use the simulator to incode the radiolog? :hmm:

Yup this what I did, looks great but sadly decoding messages you already encoded yourself and having to Alt-tab to your desktop to do it hardly adds to the immersion :(

I do the same - and feel the same. There is, in my opinion, only one way to use enigma messages effectively and realistically, and that is by running a mission-based campaign for others to participate in.
There were at least a couple, if I remember correctly, for SH2 run via the web. The big advantage with doing something similar with SH3 is that the basic files already contain scripted convoys, aircraft, etc, whilst with SH2 you had to add the lot in each mission file, which was big job and a pain in the a___.
This also means added realism in an SH3 mission-campaign with things like redirected orders, as there is always a good chance of runninginto the enemy without pre-scripting it. This is where enigma comes in...
