Ever need to dive quietly near enemy and can't figure out what is underneath you? We have all been there...
That is why I'm currently putting together a depth sounding chart that displays all the depths of the underwater terrain in SH3.
I looked at 2 options of acquiring data...either pull it from game (which only allows access to colored layers and depth ranges not exact numbers) or have community take soundings and post them...making for more fun...more accurate....and yet more room for error (as you would find in real world)
So, for your next patrol please take depth soundings and post your findings (preferably a screenshot) with samples taken so we can place them in the project map. You can do this anywhere on your patrol...the more readings you take the more accurate our maps will be. So next time you are sitting there bored on patrol take a reading!
