Problems with upadting to latest Version!!

Hey people:

I am still having problems trying to update my Silent hunter III from the EMEA EN version 1.0 to V.1.4B, i have tried all 4 patches thinking that one will work, well everytime i go to patch it i get funny error messages like this one:

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter III\data\Menu\de_menu.txt:unknown version.

Its different for every pach, but refers to the data folder and menu subfolder!!

Any ideas would be greaty helpful.

I would like to see the latest fixes for this game!! Argggg!! LOL.

I suggest possibly downloading patch 1.1 from here http://patches.ubi.com/silent_hunter_3/

You might want to make sure that your SH3 folder isn't set to be read only.

Right click your SilentHunterIII folder.
Go in to properties.
Make sure read only isn't checked.


This is just a guess as it does look like you have some kind of version conflict, but it might help. You are updating a fresh, unmodified install correct?
