Way cool, i just saw my first lightning strike while on patrol last night. Not that I was ever really looking for it before, I just got lucky and happened to be looking in my external view when it happened.
It was the worst storm I've ever seen, sailing up the African coast from my Freetown patrol grid heading for a stopover around Gibraltar to get rid of those last few fish on my way home. 15 wind, heavy rain, high seas, pitch black thick clouds, and fog as dense as pea soup. Around midnight, so dark you couldn't distinguish the horizon nor the sea from the sky, or your hand in front of your face! Switched to external view just to enjoy the rugged scenery for a moment, and there she was, a bolt from the sky!
Made me think if anyone ever got a screen shot of lightning, that sounds like it'd be very difficult to do.
How rare is lightning in the game, I wonder? First time seeing it in almost 20 patrols, but then again I've never been looking for it.
I've marveled at this game's starry skies, I'm now in awe of how it models those un-starry nights.
