Well Mr Rumsfeld that is going to be one heck of a challenge.

why do qoute PR of the white house?
Especially that guy.
"Can we win this war? Yes, we can. And will!"
"Will it be tough? Of course it will!"
"Some say there's a civil war in Iraq. Is there? Of course not. That's nonsense!"
"Did we know it would be this hard? No, but freedom is never easy."
"Did we screw up? You betcha!"
"Will I keep avoiding difficult questions by adressing only the ones I like? Of course I will."
"Why? Because I like it that way."

This has been a typical Q&A session of Rumsfeld & Rumsfeld. Of all people, I'm sure there are more interesting people to listen to. Please stop this propoganda BS.
Rumsfield says a lot of things, unfortunately. I'd rather see him say how. They've been telling us that the war will be won for almost 5 years now, and I've not yet heard one good plan except "let's go bombing!".

It is rather one-sided and reads more like a White House press release than a news story. Some pretty flower language in it though; my favourite quote:
"Imagine what the beheaders and the hostage-takers would do were they to accomplish their goal of establishing a safe haven in Iraq -- how a victory for them would aid their cause, their efforts to raise money and their recruiting efforts," Rumsfeld said.
I can't help but wonder if the administration has a consultant on salary just to coin new synonyms for "terrorist" or "insurgent". I guess having repeated both over and over for the last 5 years they need new descriptives to keep things fresh in the public's mind and avoid sounding like they are simply repeating the same tired rhetoric.
Another piece of vintage Rumsfeld from the article:
"The question of our time is whether we face this enemy on their terms or on our terms, on their territory or on our territory, where they are on offense or where they are on defense," he said.
Even today he remains clueless that Iraq was never a central front in the War on Terror until the US turned it into one.

Yes I wondered on that one it's all talk and no answers. May be they are testing the waters, public reaction. :hmm:

Terrorist - in bad country.
Insurgent - terrorist fighting within his own country.
Freedom fighter - Chechens.
:hmm:
All same thing, but White House has a nack of putting a spin on the bearded, robe wearing, children shooting, woman raping, towelhead motherf*ckers.
