Hi all,

Anyone knows which file must be tweaked, to get the watchers put their raincoats on stormy weather ?

Thanks. :( :hmm:

One way to get them to change is take them off the bridge and then put them right back.

Apparently no one will bring their raingear up to them, they have to go below and get it themselves. :damn:

Samwolf is correct, and it's pretty silly. It's bad enough having to tell my crew to go to bed - now I have to dress them too!

However, depending on how you have your deck gun modded, your crew might not ever put on raincoats. The file that controls under what weather conditions the deck gun can be used also controls when raincoats go on.

In Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/submarine/NSS_UboatXX/NSS_UboatXX.cfg you'll find the line

StormConditions=7,0.1max wind speed [m/s], max rain intensity [0,1]

The 7 sets max wind speed after which you can't use the deckgun and the raincoats have to go on; the 0.1 does the same for rain intensity. Your values might be different, since a number of mods change this line. If you want the raincoats to go on more easily, you'll want to adjust these downward, but be aware that you will then lose use of the deckgun more easily. I personally don't use the deckgun much, and like the appearance of the raincoats, so I'm okay with leaving this value at stock.

I kinda like the "feature"...its probably the only bug on the dev's part that actually enhanced the immersion of the game.....they should add a feature that the men get sick if you leave them too long on deck or without their rain gear......but, only if the added the feature that the watchman announces its raining....which they don't.....and I doubt any of the bugs in this game would align themselves in such a way to do this....so, for now I don't really care what they wear...

thanks for help, AlanSmithee.

I had the 'Bad weather gun' mod installed, that's why.

Like you said, i modified the wind/rain variables in my VIIC .cfg file :
I have lowered the wind to:12m/s and the rain factor to : 0,6.

This works pretty well for me because i can use the deck gun until high winds, and the guys put their coat not before a fairly descent rain, and can enjoy the added realism of the costumes.

The equation is like: Raincoats on = No Deck gun...

;)
