What to make of this, folks ?

" The bagginess is to ensure the wearer avoids stiffness while bending down repeatedly during prayers. The pockets are for holding all the accessories Muslims have to take off while they worship. "

Corradi said the jeans are manufactured at a plant near Karachi, Pakistan that employs about 15,000 people. "I wanted to respect (the fact) that if these are the first jeans for Islam, they should be built by Muslim hands," he said. So: Allah Akhbar (AA) quality guaranteed :hmm:

Good, I wouldn't want a westerner to build one single baggy muslimjeans which would later on cover a TNT-belt underneath ;)

Some jean producer has found an idea for a new product, what's the big deal?

Honestly, I do not see what discussion you want to have in this thread.

EDIT: correcting typo

You're right.

It just seems silly to me muslims need special jeans and strictly made by muslim hands.

Plus the idea was conceived in catholic Italy.
Well, we all know the problems of catholicism I guess. And the west: anything for a buck

Saw a program a few years back on the first Levi's, they didn't look much like today's jeans.
Jean cloth, of course, is nothing more than canvas. The use of the material in soldiers clothing (hemp or linen back in the day) was used for "coveralls" (French fly trousers and later drop-fronts), seaman's pants, etc., etc., goes back several hundred years.

Bull****. The Jeans are made in Pakistan because that's where they're cheaper to make. They just turned it into an advertising plus.

No jeans for us Catholics? :)
MadMike, I understand the problems with the west, but what problems of catholicism are you referring to?

That would be cross-stitched jeans, wouldn't it?

It might be a good business idea. In the beginning they might sell well, then Levi's etc. will become more fashonable. Or Levi's might take them over when they've found their niche in the market.

Come to think of it, it might well be a Jewish plot to fool poor Muslims into buying extra jeans. The hands that make them may be Muslim but the bucks they cost go to Levi's.
A new conspiracy...?
:D
