difficult for novices and non-insiders to get into, but surely an impressive piece of software, and a classic. Unfortunately the review is a little short...
Try it!
Looking good. Will give it a try later today!

Nice to see finally orbiter getting recognition on some major simulation websites
This game oops simulator is top notch and even more considering that it is a freeware project.

Orbiter can never be considered a game.
It is a very hard core simulator...You really do need to know what you are doing.

It would be more popular if it had better interface (unintuitive MFDs) and some sort of basic auto-pilot because you still need to know what you're doing to use the automation features.
Anyway, it is still one of the best pieces of software ever, right next to Google Earth. These two provides you with a whole new unprecedented perspective on our planet and Solar system.
Many dazed into the star-lit night sky, many mapped the stars and built structures aligned with these maps, but the creators and contributors of Google Earth and Orbiter gave us the ability to travel into space and visit any location on Earth, to fly like a free Bird, and carry Avian Flu to Venus and Mars.
Many would give their lives to be able to toy with Orbiter and Google Earth.
Congratulations to the wise application of technology.
