Wulfmann,

Can you post more details: where you read/find it and you really already have it? :hmm:

Thanks!

That is one of the 2 Italian light cruisers in the Seawolves next add on. This one (unlike the first, IMO) will be very worth while with 45 new ships.
But, there are so many people that hate these guys that posting any info here invites a flame war.
What is especially cool about these is they escort convoys to North Africa and I was setting up to attack this convoy when I thought the DD looked odd that was leading it. It had a turret amidships and I started thinking it was the new Navigatori class DD also in this package (I am beta testing it).
Because it was after dusk it was hard to make out but in over 10 months I had never seen a friendly convoy and it made me more careful to identify my targets after this incident.
The campaign is the 23rd Flotilla out of Salamis, Greece where the U-331 was based when it sank the HMS Barham.

Great! Perhaps now Seawolves will do a correct work and in peace with modders!

And please post more info to us.
Is the new Seawolves Campaign full of news like that? Can you tell more about for us? (I should not to return to that old annoying discussion...so only a player's curiosity).

Thanks!

Being I test it I can assure you it is all new original stuff including new sounds and effects.
One thing I particularly like is when you are attacking a ship with the deck gun there is explosions from every hit and many secondary explosions. I have even assumed a ship was sunk more than once because it was totally immersed in smoke and flames only to realize it was still afloat and trying to get away.
There are many more air attacks by the Luftwaffe. I see them all the time and they respond fairly quick to my reports. But, they have also sunk ships I was stalking or had damaged and was setting up to finish off. It is cool to watch the Brits engage the planes with their AA blasting away.
Yesterday a Sloop was about 300 yards from me when it shot down a Ju88 and that crashed into the sloop (Frigate). A small tanker was badly hit and on fire nearly running me down and I was in this cloud of smoke (they have increased the smoke a lot from damage). The bombs were falling around me and I was lucky not to suffer damage.
All very cool.
I have played SH3 since last May but I have had many new experiences I never had before this add-on.

I believe X-1 is doing this mod the right and correct way. I also believe the first mod they did was released correct, after they fixed the problems brought to light by their prerelease info on their website. When it was pointed out to them that they had failed to get mod authors permission to use their work, they did the right thing and contacted the mod makers they could find and either got permission, or failing to get permission, pulled the mod out. Unfortunately for them, the damage had already been done. I do hope they do well with this release.

Wulfmann,

Thanks for the info. Looking forward for this add on. And only after the release will could said if it's ok or not. But i'm crossing fingers to a peace release with modder's community!

The only thing that upsets me is that, they doesn't try to add new ship models instead of modding of the presented.

Actually Hunter, they are making some new complete ground up ships. I just can't say what at this point.
I am also sure if they came on this forum they would tell you I am a pain in the ars to them and I question everything that resembles another mod.
They have even changed some of their original stuff just to be safer.
Ironically they had done ships like Scharnhorst before others but since others have released their done later version I will bet you the cry babies will make a false claim on it.
Let us see if that happens.

That is not true. There are my mods Additional merchants and Multi-skin warships v 1.0 in their release despite I specifically told them that they can not use my mods for commercial purposes.

S,
I have stated more than once I do not have nor do I know what was in the first X-1 package.
I will say there are none of your ships in this upcoming package and now not even the same names with different models. Please tell me any concern and I will be sure to look into it.

Yes, I was talking about previous X-1 realease.

As to Seawolves: Med, since you asked, I strongly suspect that they still use files from Multi-skin ships mod. It is not difficult to guess with 100% accuracy what will be the answer to that from X-1 people. Therefore, I will wait for the opportunity to inspect the content of corresponding files.

Or the use of Southampton mod. When I wondered in the thread http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=46504&highlight=permission why my mod is in Seawolves:Med, they quickly sent me e-mail saying that it is a placeholder and they will have their own.

This can be also checked out later on by expecting the content of the files. And I leave it up to people to judge how ethical or even legal is that to use somebodyelse's work for advertising as part of your own commercial product.

Unfortunately, I do not see a change in methods used by X-1 software for the first release. They take a mod and use it until someone points out to that. If no one points out it gets through for sale as it happened with my mods in the first release.

Wulfmann, on all the Boards the only oneadmitting to have been a "Tester" is you, are there any other Betatester out there who can confirme any of the fact's which are around ? Don't get me wrong i know your position out of your Posts on the various Boards but somehow i get a unibiased view about you and i'm just wondering who else could enlighten us about the any new made mods by X-1

Whilst not a beta tester, I've seen the list of contents and conversed earlier on with CombatPlanes.

There's a lot of new ship classes (primarily cruisers and destroyers) which I've never seen modded before.

Yes, there's some suspicious sounding inclusions, but some are inclusions that anyone using any of TT's tools could do themselves (ie running decks awash or improved surface detection range out to 10km).

From what I've read and seen (albeit only screenshots), it looks quite promising, and whilst I had no interest in the first release for many reasons, I am interested in this release, because let's face it, the default Med can be quite boring.

But I stress I have not physically seen any of the files so cannot comment on specific file content. Nor do I know what the proposed new merchants are, which if "borrowed" would prolly be the hardest to hide. I can say though that at this stage I am keeping a totally open mind on this one and indeed will most likely purchase it. But I can still be swayed.

FYI the contents of the expansion can be viewed via the CombatPlanes website... http://www.combatplanes.ca/uboat.htm

This will be my one and only post on this (potentially contentious) subject.

I noticed 2 ships of interest from my point of view on that list. The Type 36A (M) and the USS Wasp - read Essex class carrier.

From my Essex Class CFG file found in the roster folder:

Maybe it's the first USS Wasp (CV 7), and not the Essex class one. Still, I'd be suspicious if I were you.

BTW - Does anyone have a list of new ships which will be included with Seawolves?

Wulfmann

I thought there was a list at Combat Planes but have never visted the site, LOL; really!
I will relay that Serg.
I know they are trying to not have any "accidents" on this. They want to walk the line.
Many things can be modded the same way on these things and as long as they make the mod it should be remembered they actually have authorization from UBI to mod and no one else does, officially!
However, completely new ground up creation is not a mod of UBI copyrighted stuff and certainly seems like it would be out of bounds.
This add on is 20 to 30 times bigger than the first and is always growing.
If someone else is beta testing I do not know about it.
I really do speak out where I know to but I do not have time for reading many files. Playing is a tough assignment and having fun is also something that must be done! :rotfl:

Above is a link to the new Arethusa class. This is a new model (I do not have this yet myself and am still using the mod version of the Arethusa)

JScones posted the link to the Seawolves project above. Please scutinize it and report back.

I checked the Wasp and it is not at all the same file and I have the free 1936 and Seawolves 1936 DD in my nonSeawolves SH3. They are totaly different ships.
The X-1 is five single guns.
You do realize there were a few variations of that class.

As I said; I would ask this directly and have been told these skins have been replaced with new ones.
Please state any other concerns you may have as I believe you have every right to question files that may be yours.

You have made many improvements that have benefited the SH3 community including myself and we are all grateful for the generous sharing of your talents.

I will continue to point blank ask X-1 on anything that concerns you.

I should have read the post more carefully at the ubi site if I knew it had something to do with seawolves I would never posted the topic but that cruiser looked so inviting,
