"GMX Media" is a publisher, they didn´t develop Seawolves. It first came out about six months ago in Germany and Switzerland. Use the forum search to find out more about Seawolves.

The screenshots are from SH3 but there is NO mention of it and no mention of Ubisoft.

This is a bunch of mods that they want to charge for!!!

How they are not being sued for making money off others work is beyond me.

They did nothing illegal, nothing could be proved.

Well if Greywolves will also be republished by them, why not put some extra little thing so the files easily can be identified as community-made?

Correct me if I´m wrong.

X1 has ubisoft´s permission to mod the game, so they can copyright their work.

If Greywolves is made without the permission of Ubisoft, you cant copyright it and X1 can use it as they want, if they just ask Ubi for permission.

Nice world, eh? :stare:

You reckon they have access to the source code?? only then they can have an advantage over the mod community. In any case, their mod is already easily surpassed by whats already been achieved by this woderful community... and there is more to come.

... and did someone say starforce?? i wonder if this seawolves mod has starfarce in it or not??... perhaps then it can be one of its only redeeming features.... :hmm:

Well, if they got permission from Ubi to do and copyright a mod, so be it, but I doubt they got permission to omit the fact that it is a mod of SH3 with appropriate credit.

Anyway, I think it is ballsy of them to post screen shots of SH3 and call them something else.

Tutorial for Fire a Spread and Attacking a Convoy

I'm a little confused (nothing new). So its an expansion pack for SH3, but they don't mention that its an add-on to SH3, or that you need SH3 to play it, so how am I supposed to know that its for SH3 unless I recognize the screenshots? The way they are presenting it seems very misleading, especially with such little info that its for SH3 and then telling you to buy it.

So is this sanctioned by SH3 or not?

The features it offers do sound good though, like SIXTY new cities, naval and airbase additions, new ships, and the historical activity like D-Day, etc. Some of these things I have yet to see within the mod community, and it could add some replay value to the game. It does seem like some of the features are "borrowed" or even "stolen" from the mod community, but some of these things are really improvements that anyone would agree needed to be made to any official expansion pack or patch or should've been included in the game to begin with. New missions, ships in the harbors, and tutorials for firing spreads and attacking convoys go on that list, I think.

So all that being said, is it worth getting I wonder, or should I be more upset that these are really just mods that they're trying to get you to pay for? If a mod is big enough and well done enough, I wouldn't mind paying a little for it. Couldn't any expansion pack of any game be considered a mod that they're trying to get you to pay for? If some of their ideas are legitametly stolen from the SH3 mod community, which is absolutely fabulous by the way and I'm running over 20 mods myself right now, than I'm definitely against it. Is that what they are doing?
