I have just started playing on-line at UBI.com. I have tried to start a new game but have not had any success at getting other players to join. I was wondering if someone could describe the steps needed to start a game. I've followed all the on screen prompts but the list of players just sits there without anyone joining.

I don't know that many people bother to trawl UBI for SH3 games, your best bet might be to find someone with similar interests (for example here) and arrange a game beforehand.

What do you even do online? I haven't even touched that part of the game yet. It is co-op where you both go out and sink ships together, or is it player vs. player?

In multiplayer you can have wolfpacks.

You have to disable your firewall, otherwise no one can join. I can almost guarantee this is your problem. Unfortunantly I'm not sure how to disable them. I'm sure if you search around here or the ubi forums you will find someone with the know how to help you. :yep:

Ubi Ping: TCP 667
Ubi.com: TCP/UDP 40000 thru 42000

Yes and forgot to add Subclub will keep your tonnage score you can sort of like work your way up to the top. So no wild shots aim to kill folks.
The Downside of playing SH3 multiplayer using the Ubisoft method is this, well heres some tips. I haven't played online for a long time so the problems might of been fix by now, but No1 NEVER! order your crew to man the deckgun if you do and theres another sub on the surface close by chances are the autocrew will target the nearest Uboat and fire until shes sunk..... Not good, i actually got banned from a german host for accidentally doing this, problem is i dont understand german and they were text messaging me while it was happening, I thought at the time hey they're all sending me messages to me man they're a friendly bunch, yet truth is they must of been saying something along the lines, What the **** are you doing you ******* idiot! I was down in my cabin so was blind to see what was going on, only when i decided to go top and see how my autocrew was doing i realised my mistake there he was zig zaging my gun shots while my crew were happily fireing away. Next thing the game ended. And i was banned from that host. No2. When firing homing torpedos be careful as they too will target other uboats. Usually fire them if your in front of the other uboats but this also can be a downfall for you as there homing torps can target you!

Apart from that have fun :smug:
