Hello ,
does anyone of you ever meet an american giant ship (cruise-ship or a "schlachtshiff) And is it possible to get them sinking?

If you mean Passenger liners? yep they usually hang around in the BE grip but I han't seen one in my last 2 careers.
I've seen British liners (and sank them) and I've seen a few American ones too. If it is pre-Dec 1941 and the American ships are neutral I let 'em go.

Battleships, you mean?
Can't help you there, sorry, only battleship I've seen (in career mode) was a British Revenge-class steaming in as I was sneaking out after a harbor raid in Loch Ewe. Didn't take the risk of attacking it, however. With only two torps in the front tubes, a horrible position and 10+ destroyers escorting it, I decided to head for the harbor bottom and pray they wouldn't notice me. They didn't.

I'm afraid that over the course of roughly five careers I haven't seen a warship larger than a Southampton crusier, and that was in a convoy.
If you're looking for warships, you might want to check out the SH3 Community Wiki (http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Hunting_Grounds) which has a list of moored capital ships by date and location. I believe these are all British, however.
I had a lot of reports about warship here warship there, but usually they are too fast and too far away from me to intercept ... never had the luck (or the bad luck) to meet them!
The same thing with Task Force ...never had possibilities to intercept :(
The biggest ship i sunk was a British Passenger Liner (22K)around AM 53 in 1943..

This site also has some spoilers about where to find task forces:

Just seen a TF in AN25 but couldn't do a thing about it,the TF contained a Revenge BB,NelsonBB,Illustrious carrier, and about 6 DDs oh and I forgot to say it was throwing it down with heavy fog.

I ran into a small task force while heading down the west coast of Ireland, heading for the Atlantic. I put two torpedoes into a big fleet carrier in a storm. It began listing and slowing, the map showed an enemy ship sunk symbol, but I never got credit for it.
Fortunes of war, I suppose.

I'm currently in September 1941, and so far I stumbled into one task force with a numbr of DD's, a battleship and a fleet carrier.

Just ran into my first (early '42) task force with only 2 aft torpedos left :(
Couldn't catch it anyway, those things don't half shift!

I didn't actually I plotted a course to Intercept them but lost them they must have been doing atleast 25knts.
But as a consolation prize found a Convoys not very far away which had a liner in it (first one I seen in a long while) and wiped it out.

AFAIK, there was nothing in the American (or allied for that matter) military arsenal during WWII that was close to 70,000 tons displacement. Essex class fleet carriers were only about 40K and Iowa class battleships were around 50K (almost 60K fully loaded). I've seen figures indicating that, fully loaded, the Yamato class Japanese battleships were slightly over 70,000 tons, but I'd hate to imagine the renown hit for sinking one of those babies :)
I did see a web site that listed both the Queen Elizabeth (1940) and the Queen Mary (1936) passenger liners as over 80,000 tons - seeing one of those in SH3 would sure make my day :yep:
