So I am leaving on my second patrol (TY IIA) out of Keil. As usual, I have my destroyer escort. So I am happly transiting the canal when I notice the DD heading too close to the shore. I sit amazed as Herr Kaptain runs his prized boat straight onto the beach!

I thought this was a bug so I reloaded the mission and sure enough, he did it again.

Dumb-arse! :rotfl:

Oh, Im running RUB1.45 and SHIII Commander.

Did you by chance save the game while in port? That causes ships to go crazy, and it says so in the HT readme.

Nope, I just cranked up SH III Commander and picked up a random skipper and picked Keil, 1939 start date. I believe it was the third or fourth patrol when this happened.

Its not a big thing as far as play is concerned but it did come over as funny.

Hmmm. I've never seen that happen, except when I saved in port.

Curious... :-?

I've also seen this happen when I accedentally got too close to the escort, causing it to freak out and deviate from its scripted course. (By "freak out" I mean lead me through a minefield then crash into the shore.) So far, I don't think I've seen this happen when I stay a reasonable distance away.

Then again, I have seen this happen often enough that I'm guessing most of the German economy during this period in history was based on repairing all the DD's that grounded themselves... :arrgh!:

Talking of stupid those Sunderland pilots need more flying lessons, I have seen now four mid air collisions by these clowns, what are they doing trying to laugh me to death. Save me on ammo thanks to their careless flying. :yep:
