View Full Version : getting the watch officer on the watch crew?
hi,
whenever i submerge for a hydro check, then surface, i always have to manually move my watch officer onto the bridge. is there anyway to have this done automaticaly?

that is a good question, I'd like to know. I've heard a lot of people complaining about that problem, but never anyone with a solution.
might be something in the bow quarters to watch than looking out for airplanes...
seriously though it hampers my thight fatigue conservation, especially on a long patrol where after a dozen or so hydro checks and resurfaces, and still no contacts, going to F7 to get him on the watch brings the TC down to 32, hence fatigure starts wearing down, even for a few seconds, it sure seems like it wears down after a few times. anyway, by the time I finally get a contact, what do you know: my officers (the most important to keep fresh IMO) are 50% fatigued.
i know eventually i'll have a crack crew that never needs to rest, until then though... maybe there's a CFG file somewhere that we could also add a line to pull an optimal officer to the watch crew (like officer=1)? as it is now, seems like the game knows to get the watch petty officer up there
As far as I know that is hardcoded so there is no way to get him to bridge automatically.

He's not vey popular. I think the other members of the watch lock him in the forward head every time. It's your job to spring him. ;)
Hehe, I remember first time playing SHIII. After surfacing, I was like 'WTF!? Where did he go?? Did he fell of from the tower? '
:rotfl:
As far as I know that is hardcoded so there is no way to get him to bridge automatically.
But as i remember before the all install mods on my game he allways had gone automat. to the tower with the rest of the watch crew.... :hmm:
So it could be from some efect of a preinstalled mod.... :hmm:
My WO has never got there automatically. With or without mods.
My Watch officer made a B-Line for the Bog :-j
