FYI if you have an ATi card and are daring and or experienced with driver changes you might want to try Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.221 (Cat 6.2)
Go to Here:

I have not run them yet myself I have a monitor/screen issue I am verifying first with WHQL 6.2 from ATi. If the monitor clears the test I have used the Omega's before and I get some nice IQ with them...

Aye  I will
Seems that may be as soon as tonight my time - last night ran PC, monitor issues seem resolved for now - thus will experiment with Omegas. Again from past Omegas I used if installed clean these driver sets have done some wonderful things for my games on my system.
Will advise of results next 24 hours....

I love the Omega drivers. Unfortunately now that I've replaced my 9800 Pro with a 6800 GS, I can't use them anymore.

There's a utility called "Driver Cleaner" out there somewhere which i've used before to rid me of ATI mess. I'll see if I can dig the link out for you.
Cheers....

for DC another suggestion from techheads is use this (above freeware) with ATi uninstaller.
called Cat uninstaller from ATi site...
use ATi first, no reboot, then Driver Cleaner, reboot, install driver (sometimes helps to be disconnected from Net and have AV off)...

I finally had a chance to run the Omega driver set.
I am never disappointed :know:
Excellent IQ (image quality) also got rid of some artifacting I had experience with Cats (aka CCC).
Spielberg would like the explosions
Key is clean install - if you are unsure I can post links but for mr proceedure is rather simple and routine now....

Good Point Tazzie.
Ok several schools of thought but the quick one I use is here below (mentioned before) for all video drivers; ATi, Omega, DNA, etc. It seems the old stickies I used in past are gone now
So here is my version I used:
down load the driver - extract to a new folder on desktop
Get ATi uninstaller at ATi.com search for Utilities, Various, ATi Catalyst Maintaince...I tried linking but it ends up on home page everytime. :stare:
If you hate ATi home page search then you can always use the Control Panel deletion at Add/Remove Programs feature of XP.
To Get Driver Cleaner, at =

Use ATi uninstaller to remove or from CP, in either case do not reboot when asked. Close them as needed and then use DC pro. I only use ATi setting/filter of DC.
Be sure to check out the DCpro README FIRST! - this prog is wicked and used wrong will ruin your day and your software system....Avoid the temptation to do any thing else like .cab file cleaner or add all the filters in...I learned that the hard way...Finally a Disclaimer do not blame me if you use it and it messes up that is why read the READMEs FIRST :stare:
Reboot (note here that some techs say go to/use Safe Mode at this point but I have not yet)
If on reboot the colors are 16bit and or resolution changes to something like 800x600
Good!
It means you are back at foundation of a VGA card...all cards are VGA and they run home if they find no drivers - means you cleaned it right.
Ignore New Hardware warning - cancel each time, it may ask more than once. Ignore those pesky "click here to fix" balloons in the taskbar too.
Get offline - disconnect from Internet recommended for next steps.
Now turn off Anti Virus; again be sure you are offline first - sometimes AV sees drivers installs as bad guys...your call on this too but it works for me.
Go to your new folder with driver find executable and fire away.
If a Beta driver like Omega ignore those warnings about WHQL, just continue to load the drivers.
Reboot - reset colors and resolutions.
OK thats about it. Again this is condensed version because I am at work typing this and boss man just stuck his head in to see what I am typing - good thing he plays GTA...lol
