Task force sighted two battleships and an aircraft carrier

I was just patrolling the Gibraltar area when my watch officer reported a ship sighted. I looked that way and I spotted several ships of what looked to see destroyer size and two battleships and an aircraft carrier. I was already in perfect position to move in and attack. I dove to periscope depth and managed to close to 2500 meters undetected. I targeted the carrier, took the readings, and fired two T2 torpedos at it. About halfway there one of them detonated prematurely :down: but the other one managed to hit the carrier and leave it dead in the water :rock: I'm now preparing to fire two T1 torpedoes at it. Any last minute advice on "escape and evasion"?

Stay submereged and you will be fine. BBs and CVs are not armed with ASW weaponry.

Personally, I would have gone after the BBs first. They're much more valuable in WWII. In modern warfare, however, that's different.

if your colse to it and especialy if its still makeing faint sounds, it might be worth sitting underneeth the carrier :|\

Whoops. Missed the part about the DD. If possible, I'd go deep (150+ meters) order silent running. Try to steer 120 degrees in the opposite directions of the task force's mean course. (ie if task force in on heading 270, steer 340 if north of convoy, 210 if south.) If you are attacked, keep zig-zagging in that general direction, as the escort will give up more quickly if you get farther behind than abeam of the group.

no doubt they are moving at something like 20knots? you probably havn't much time once they sail pass thats it! my advice is get as close to your target as you can running at 2 knots (as long as your in front of them). then let loose your fish on the BB.
I came across a huge taskforce in my last patrol sailing with a convoy, 2 nelsons, 2 carriers, the king george and a heavy cruiser all moving with the convoy at 6 knots! There was no escorts. Sunk the light carrier and one of the nelsons.
