wasn't it a black flag when they were enroute to an allied port? :hmm:

Not sure what to do about that. I have never lived to see May '45. Last career ended in February, which was frusturating to be so close and yet so far.

Yes I did open up but the first DD fired first then backed off my stealth meter went from red to green and my fish was already on it's way (can't detonate them like modern ones) it went down like a stone but like like I said in the last post all in that convoy died.
I got hit by B-24s for a day losing my diesel engines so I can't dive I did eventually arrive on survice in NY harbour on the 26th May 1945 the weather tipical of english weather pissing it down with heathy fog only to slam into a Victory Cargo by the time I saw it ordered emergency back too late went into her my sub went down but recovered minus all my watch crew which all died.
Hit esc and guess what ? CTD.
Now this is the first time I tried to dock in a enemy port but seening your Neutral after 09/05/45 I assume you can dock anywere!
As I didn't know what made the CTD I re booted my pc loaded the game up and went to saved career and it was there 26/05/45 THE WAR HAS ENDED so I don't know if you can exit the game in a enemy port?

What flags? I'd love to see a flag on a u-boat (in game)

U-262 was attacked by a flight of B-24's about eight hours after the surrender was received. We fortunately crashed to safety without damage, but it was a surprise. I had actually refrained from the normal crash dive thinking we wouldn't be attacked. After that incident however, planes would fly by without attacking. I always came to flank and prepared to crash dive anyway.

Being aware that not everyone may have gotten the word, I never let an allied ship approach us, always diving away. We returned to our original home port of Wilhemshaven also, not chancing the long shallow channel into our last assigned port at Brest.

It takes along time to get all the way through the war, why leave it to chance at the end?

Good Hunting!

I didn't open fire first. The lead DD opened up first, I just finished the job. Call it self defence or whatever if fired upon fire back,

Andy,

The 'Fatherland' owes you a debt of gratitude - under normal circumstances you would be given 'Oakleaves' for your Iron Cross - unfortunately, all you can look forward to is surviving the war and eating at McDonald's with your kids!

You know, I've never given any thought to what happens at the end of the war. I've just assumed I'd be sent to Davy Jones' Locker long before that. Now I've got real incentive to "Quit farting around and sink some ships"!
