Dr Goebbels would be proud to hear that. Nuclear War is a no win situation no one will win so it will never happen. :hulk:

I for one wouldn't trust an arab with a nuke as far as I could spit, given their proclivity for reaching for the 'Sword of Justice'® at the drop af a hat.
EDIT:
on the other hand:
but they also fear that the Bush administration will be "too quick" to order military action against Iran.

No STEED, it shows that we are rightfully concerned about a madman with capabilities of nuclear weapons.
There is little doubt among Americans about Iran's intentions. Eight of 10 predict Iran would provide a nuclear weapon to terrorists who would use it against the USA or Israel, and almost as many say the Iranian government itself would use nuclear weapons against Israel. Six of 10 say the Iranian government would deploy nuclear weapons against the USA.
More than two-thirds agree that economic and diplomatic efforts should be used now, but Americans divide 45%-45% over whether the United States should take military action if diplomacy fails.

I can gurantee that at some point in the future that there will at least be a limited Nuke exchange. Maybe between Pakistan and India. Maybe between Iran and Israel. How about North Korea and South Korea?
I expect the highest likelyhood of an exchange to be between Iran and Israel. Iran will use those weapons where other countries are more restrained. If the situation in Iraq stabilizes however, that may force Iran to stabilize as well, but Iran won't conform without kicking and screaming first, and I bet they are part of the terrorist actions (the term insurgent is inappropriately applied in Iraq).

PS. I think a few airstrikes to take out their reactors should slow them down sufficiently - that is the first step.

There wouldn't be a full fledged nuclear war, I would forsee Iran trying to launch a nuclear capable missile against an American task force in the Gulf, or a long-ranged missile against Isreal. Due to the vast oil reserves in Iran and the fact that we don't blame the people of Iran, the US and Isreal wouldn't use nucs. Just a 'hole bunch of tactical munitions from the USS Ohio, B-2, B-52, and other naval entities in the area.
The threat of any kind of Nuclear War has been around since the 1950's and we are still here wake up and get a life.

Was an there an Islamic nuclear threat in the 50s? 60s? 70s? 80s?
In the 80s there almost was one. It was resolved very quickly, with no nuclear fallout.
Do you really compare the Cold War crisis to the religiously based threats of destruction and global domination coming from Iran?
Are you that naive?

Armageddon refers generally to end times or giant catastrophes in various religions and cultures. It may also refer to any great loss of life in battle or use of weapons of mass destruction. The word armageddon is derived from Mount (Har in Hebrew) Megiddo, the site of the Battle of Megiddo and other battles.
The only mention of the word "Armageddon" in the Bible was in Revelation 16:16: "And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon" (KJV). The bible includes many passages that refer to the concept of Armageddon, however. But this specific bible prophecy reference is ambiguous as to whether any event actually takes place here or whether the gathering of armies is only to be seen as a sign. In fact, a gathering of the Roman army occurred at this place as a staging ground for one of their assaults on Jerusalem in AD 67. This is consistent with the preterist interpretation that the events of Revelation 16:17-21 refer to events culminating in the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. However, one indication that the book predicts a future event is the mention of an army from the east of two hundred million, a number that would not have been likely in any battle of that period.

I don't quite understand where you are coming from, (and I assume many others here are trying to figure out the same thing)? Care to elaborate?
The Catholics actually believe a nuke exchange between the US and Russia (not sure that will happen personally) is the most likely source of the beginning of the end. Maybe sparked by a small regional war perhaps? Dunno. Maybe you can enlighten us with your wisdom?

To the best of my knowledge, the term "Armageddon" is an incorrect pronunciation of "Gog u'Magog", as described in Ezekiel chapter 38 (http://www.chabad.org/library/article.asp?AID=16136) and 39 (http://www.chabad.org/library/article.asp?AID=16137).

All you have to do is let Jesus Christ in to your life simple as that is it so hard to do that? stop letting Satan from pulling you back. Beware his time is coming he will rule this planet but there is light he will be defeated and his filth that blights this planet will be swept away forever.

I was hoping for a more fact based or logical type response/argument. For example - some form of writting done by some sort of study on the subject - like that done by the Catholic church who says that they beleive that Russia will invade Israel at some point in the not to distant future (for some unknown reason - but most likely oil which has yet to be found under Israels soil - they are supposed to be a rich country in the end of time and oil is the most likely way to get there), which will trigger the nuke war, leaving us survivors with one state and one government.
-S
PS. I do not doubt the Catholic church is corrupt any many ways, but that does not make it all bad. Though they have done some pretty despicable things in history.

What you will find when you get to heaven is that you will have a mixture of half truths between science and the bible. So you need to also open up your eyes and understand that what you read is written by ancient men who had trouble describing things they don't quite understand.
An example is - take an angels wings - is this really an angel with wings, or one that is lacking real wings but can fly?
Another - God created the Earth in 6 days, but since he lives/exists in dimensions outside beyond our own which includes time (and being outside of time), that does not mean that one total day of his time equals the same amount of time as ours, but more likely millions and billions of years. Of course if we accompanied him on his dimensional level, it would probably equal a day - but you will never understand this until the moment of your demise, and even then, you may never fully understand this because it would be like trying to tell a man who lives in only 2 dimensions what the third dimension is - you can't - even though the 2d man knows he exists somewhere on the 3d plane of existance. Maybe the 3rd dimension is going to kill him at some point - much like our 4th dimension is going to kill us, we know time exists, but then again, it doesn't. We so do not understand the 4th dimension that it is technically impossible to even describe adequately the word time without actually using time in the context of the description.
Here is another - An ancient man describing chariots of fire that exist in the end of time - this is probably a tank, or even more likely a laser tank.
Birds that are described as being gutted from the inside out in the final war - Darpa/Boeing's unmanned X-45A?
How about getting anything from anywhere you want in the end of time in a single day? We call it Fed-Ex today.
About the only thing that they got right was Israel's wall as described in the book of revelation.

For someone who is telling other members of this topic to open their eyes to Christ, this isn't a Christian behavoir.
The term "Christian" is to be coined as "christ-like" and hence Christian. There is also the "deceiver".
Steed....dude.
Relax a little....You are the man who found the pearl of great price.Who was so happy and overwhelmed by what he had found he wanted to share all his joy with everyone.
This is awesome but you need to learn the parable spoken by Jesus of not casting your pearls before the swine. You cannot force salvation down anyone's throat my friend. You cannot save anyone all you can do is try to lead by example showing the light that is in you and be a guide to those who seek the light.Indeed the time is short and the harvest is great but you must look for the opportunity to spread God's word where it will bear fruit.Be a fisher of men....don't throw that net out in the water all the time you'll scare all the fish away but look for the opportunity to catch em one at a time....it will be better to catch a few fish than none at all.
:) Peace Bro.
P.S. a good friend of mine coined me the name once of Johnny Appleseed. :) I took that as a compliment.

I suppose that depends on weather or not one side fervently believes that they will go to paradise and enjoy the company of many virgins in the event of their death. Is that an incentive?
I'd be very leary of any religion that makes that claim and calls it an incentive. Why would you want to die only to be with dead virgins? Make no sense at all and could be detrimental to ones dead health. Live ones, if found, would be much better especially when you are alive. It's a conundrum that defies logic.
:rotfl:
I suppose for the rest of us godless heathens our only choice for mortal pleasure is to cast a salacious eye at what is around ourselves, where as those with their faces turned towards the everlasting light of the once true God™ are not concerned with such simple earthly pleasures, but those of a higher impetus - do I understand the health thing- would be a bit chilly, no? urgh.
I for one would be terribly dissapointed :damn: hehe
