Hey guys, I have been lurking these forums for a while now I have registered. :)

I think I have encountered a bug in the game. I recently started a new career in the game, 1941 2nd Flotilla Lorient as the U-108.

I was out on my first patrol for this career (DH86) and while out I sank 5 ships with a total of 14910 tons, I never got any contact in my patrol area because of a storm. Anyway, when I had done my 24 hour control and the mission order said "Complete" I pressed Escape and clicked Exit Patrol (DH86 is so far away, and I wanted to get home ASAP. ). I was greeted with the usual Patrol History page... and saw that I had been awarded with.. 0, ZERO NIL renown.. Not only that, the patrol history didn’t register ANY sunken ships. I clicked the Captains Logbook text and indeed there the ships were listed, but not in the patrol history page?

Is there any way to fix this?

I have the latest patch, no mods installed and I haven’t messed around with any game files.

Here is what Log_0.cfg looks like (evidence of my patrol).

I have done the old "Exit Patrol" thingy before and I haven’t had this problem before. :-?

Maybe if I load the last save and go back to port manually it'll work?

Try re- installing the game

I'll do that as a last resort. ;)

Ok that worked. I got my renown (700 points for 21358 tons, yep I encountered a ship (C2 Cargo) on my way home, took 3 torps and I only had one left after that (fore). I ran it at a 1024x time compression. ;)

Ok now I know what to do. Never use the Exit Patrol "cheat" again. :damn:

Thanks guys.

First patrol? Had you upgraded any components before you started the first patrol? If so, well known bug. Don't upgrade before starting your first patrol.

When I start a new career, I take my boat on a shake-down cruise; out of the harbor, set the crews the way I want it,
submerge a time or two, and then dock. I'm sure this is the way it was really done.
It is useful if you use the NYGM crew management mod.
This gets arou nd the problem of no credit for tonnage if you choose to up-grade your boat.
