Oh today's cartoon is so lame. I mean it is not even satire, yea I find it is in bad taste but it isn't even funny, not even un-funny, it is ridiculous.

I imagine that during the course of the cartoonists meeting the only thing they could come up with is the Holocaust. I expect them to beat on that, and to have continued degradation in quality. In two weeks, the cartoon will simply consist of scribbled text saying: 'Dere wuz no holocaust, stoopid. Down wit Euripe. Grrr.'

Why is it that the first group that this organization goes after is not the Danes, which in their mind are responsible for this whole thing, but rather the Jews?

Oh, it is. They even have two kinds of peace:

- The kind where they don't fight because their army is not yet big enough to defeat you.

- The kind where thay don't fight because everyone else has already surrendered to them, or was already murdered by them.

Not particularly funny, and I wouldn't say the drawing skills are fantistic, but if they really want to publish this OK, free speech for everyone.

Yep, they really have to work a little bit more on the drawing thing and do a little bit better on the humor part.
For the rest the tears are still streaming over my face...

Wolf Blitzer finally does what a good journalist should do.

http://backspin.typepad.com/backspin/2006/02/roasting_turki.html

BLITZER: Here's what a lot of Americans and westerners in general don't understand. They certainly understand that there could be anger as a result of this cartoon of the prophet Mohammed, but they don't understand why there isn't greater anger, for example, at the video that was seen on Al Jazeera of the American journalist, this young woman, Jill Carroll, who was seen weeping surrounded by masked gunmen.

Where are they?

That's an honest and logical question. I hate to bring this up again but let's have a little run-down.

- Muslims flew commercial airliners into buildings in New York City. Did we see Muslim anger?
- Muslims beat the charred bodies of Western civilians with their shoes, then hung them from a bridge. Where was the Muslim outrage?
- Muslims cut off the heads of three teenaged girls on their way to school in Indonesia. A Christian school at that. Muslims...quiet.
- Muslims murdered more than 50 commuters in attacks on London subways and busses. Over 700 were injured. And Spain too. Muslims silent.
- Muslim newspapers publish anti-Semitic cartoons. Muslims are not ourtraged.
- Newspapers in Denmark and Norway publish cartoons depicting Mohammed. Muslims rampage. Muslims riot.

It's time to start pointing this out. Not as a hateful thing against people of the Islamic faith. But I want answers from them. What's with the selective outrage? And why get outraged over something totally harmless and as trivial as a cartoon? Sounds to me like the cartoons weren't the reasons for the riots, but the excuse.

Because Islam has too rigid values and norms about honor and pride, especially in the Arab countries (and Afghanistan and Pakistan). Western values, such as self-criticism, responsability, proportionalism, relativism and yes, even humor, are clearly un(der)develloped in that part of the world.
Although one or two of the cartoons show bad taste in my view, most can be seen as a rejection of violence by the prophet Mohammed. Their political message is that the Islam has a fundamental problem with violence (be it a small minority of the Muslims). The radical demonstrators - lacking any sense of humor and self-criticism - chose the negative interpretation of these cartoons and sadly therewith proved the cartonists right...

I really wished the Muslim world had responded that unanimously after Sept. 11, 2001 in New York, March 7th, 2003 in Madrid, the Beslan school massacre in 2003 or July 7th, 2004 in London. That would have increased Muslim credibility around the world. Now they clearly give the signal that some louzy cartoons are more serious to them than thousands of innocent - non-Muslim - civilian victims.
I have the idea that Muslims have no idea how negative the rest of the world population is reflecting upon their religion, which is not a good thing at all.

The socalled moderate Muslims will always suffer in their credibility, because they and the so-called radicals are theological offsprings from one and the same scriptures and traditions and history and historical figure of Muhammad. They cannot escape the absurdity that Islam's "theology" holds. A theology that enables the one to justify his violance and aggressive move towards undisputed dominance - and at the same time is used by the other to say why it cannot be like the first one is doing. That way, both are cooperating in expansion, while denying to do so at the same time. The moderate passively supports the radicals, if it helps the cause of Islam. He distracts the concentration of the victims, reflects them away from Islam, the attacker. But still, the moderate is not the real problem, the radical is not the real problem. The queer absurdity and fanatism of Islam itself is the problem.
Yesterday, AL linked to this site, which reminded me so very much of what I have written myself about Muhammad.
http://www.apostatesofislam.com/index.htm
If you follow a man like Muhammad, you should not be surprised to find yourself in a maelstrom of contradictions and violance. Germans learned it was a mistake to follow Hitler. Many Russians are in doubt of Stalin. But Muslims still have to learn the most essential lesson about Islam: that Muhammad was a murderous, narcist, ruthless bandit, massmurder and warmonger, driven by his own egocentrism, and that there is nothing, nothing worth to be called noble and holy in him.

What I say is even more offending than those cartoons, but I base o historical facts and am not after cheap offending alone. Let's see how many days I have left before beeing strangled with hot iron-chains, drowned in boiling water, get my head beeing cut off, and whatever equisite treatements Qu'ran has to offer for a lower beeing like me.
