Sea Dog run arground by CD Key issue (Resolved)

Ok, this sucks, i formatted last nite because i crashed my RAID configuration (the arrays were messed up) and reinstalled all drivers, service packs, etc etc, then went onto games and i bought the game via Direct 2 drive and have a valid key from there

Well it appears its no longer valid after my format, says "Key has been used to many times, contact support for a new key"

ARRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :stare: :arrgh!:

Matey's!! This just aint right!!! I tried using the generic key from Ubisoft and it says its just invalid.

I contacted support@starforce.com or whatever and thier sales email, as well as IGN /Gamespy/Fileplanet where i bought it.

Anyone else have probs after formatting??? Starforce SUX! This is my favorite game and now im po'ed really bad.......i mean i play it like everyday all day. ACK!

Waiting on them to reply, anyone know how long they take and if they reply on weekends? Thanks guys, from a fellow sea dog to another

wouldnt the company i bought it from be the one to contact since i bought it on Jan 7th? via direct dwnload? Its within 30 days still.

Not going to flame you, i dont expect anyone to give a CD key to me here, jsut wondering if anyone else had the problem.

I almost am about to buy a new copy (boxed) from the store just to play, i already have 5 dollar credit down at the local store and could just run down and pick one up?

Uninstalling this version and putting the boxed version on, then putting the CD key in that i have in new box would work too right if i wanted to play right away?

Um wait are you refering to Silent hunter 3? or Sea Dogs?

This is exactly why i dont buy d2d games as they all have x number of installs per key.

If it's SHIII you downloaded, it was a total waste of money for the very reason you gave above Lanthantos. Buy it boxed from a store, off Amazon or UBI.

Any downloaded game is a screwup waiting to happen. And just like the boxed version, it will have StarForce in it.

Well D2D has given me another key at least, next time i buy the boxed version.

But im back up and running again, thx for help.
