install prob on new PC (Resolved)

just got my new pc and it whont let me install SH3. as it is not "a valid win32 app" ? :cry: and that theres no valid installer

Maybe it´s just the Autorun program that doesn´t work. Have you also tried setup.exe from the DVD? What´s your OS?

Is the DVD scratched? Try to copy everything from the DVD to your harddisk and install it from there.

tryed copy n' past and it "can't copy file" but thats befor it starts to past

Does it look scratched? Try it with another DVD or CD, maybe the drive is broken.

well it is scrached but i just put it on my old pc the ther week (its nakked) and it was fine then, but i just tryed it on my dads laptop and it runs PS my new pc is a build not an of the shelf saw i mite need differant S/W

Do you have a Plextor drive? If so, read the last post on that Ubi thread I pointed to.

As I said, try another DVD. Take one that has no copy protection on it, like a burned DVD.

Is there already a SF-protected game on your system or would SH3 be the first?

Are you logged in with administrator rights or restricted user rights?

no no SF on PC got it to work by useing SecuViewer105 that is in one of the Ubilinks that avon gave use.

i think it could be some other type of disc protecsion that ubi or the disc pressers use

ps the sim runs :up: naw that have a realy good pc

This is a bit scary. I've been toying with the idea of getting a new PC sometime this year. Problem is (or could be) that MS's new "Vista" operating system could possibly prevent me from loading SH3 - and eliminate a major reason for getting a new computer. And if I was going to spend the 'big bucks' for a super system, I would want the latest OS, not the 'going-to-be' old XP system. But if SH3 wouldn't work on it, then what's the point? Not that SH3 is the only reason for a new system, but it's currently one of the most important reasons.

do it, if you get one now youll HAFT to get XPhome if you whont to game as x64 Pro is (in my and quite alot of other peoples view) a windows 95/98FE&ME esk OS and vistas out at the end of the year but id expect at least 3 to 4 monthes delays on that.
