ekranoplan there is one for sale in nizhney novgorad $12,000USD i think they want was ment to send troops fast across the atlantic and also missiles idea didnt realy take off.

GReat idea, not practical for large scale though.

Also I think one of the main problems was maintaining the requried altitude and the fact they go in a straight line very quickly but can't turn for jack....

I'm pretty sure that it causes enough turbulence in its wake to pick something up in the water... with moders sonar, that is.
