Well, I've given many speeches like this over my life (in happy and sad times, in peace and in war). Hopefully, my speeches have not begun to lose their luster.

In the year that I've been here (technically five years if you count the time I spent as a guest on the forums, lol), all I can say is that much has changed for us. As Neal has said, we've seen the deaths of good friends, we've heard the birth of good news. We've shared the good times, the bad times, and the sad times. All I can say is that my time as a registered Kaleun has been indeed one of the best since I first used the Internet. I've made buds here that I'd gladly share a beer with in the real world, I've heard stories that have made me a little wiser in the ways of the world, and I've even had the grand times of online fun with you guys (though I don't make myself well known, lol).

You've been great friends over the course of my Subsim trials, and I'll drink to many more.

To Subsim, gentlemen and ladies! And to the words of William Shakespeare:

This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

-Henry V (1598)

Let us not dishonor the words of King Henry. Let us remain a band of brothers who shall endure the trials of life with great enthusiasm as to the dawn of tomorrow.

We've seen Silent Hunter move back to the Pacific, and Enigma rise from the deeps, and a WWI subsim, well, we have one now (http://www.subsim.com/ssr/shells_fury.php), anyway!

We've lost a couple of good friends :(

LeoVampire (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=742165)

And we've had some laughs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwqvjyn22Ys&feature=related)and fun (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=724230), crushing dreams, chasing cats, teaching each other history, religon, and politics, and sailing the cyberseas.

The floor is open, Saturday Jan 26 Subsim will be 11 years old. Cake and ale on me, mates :yep:

Neal

Cheers :up:

In the past hour, I have had three beers for Subsim... and now I'm tired... which is strange because I can normally do six or seven before I'm just out, I mean totally in the wonderful state of pure inebriation.
