I'm sure i'll get to see plenty of them in the future.
Except it will be more like this...
'wokka wokka wokka wokka *WOOP WOOP* 'Bugger...' Chaff flare, chaff flare, chaff flare, dive dive dive'
*shudder* :-?

It wins no Beauty Pagents.
I think its an odd launch procedure, to eject it into the air and then activate the rocket. Because if at any time the eject dosn't give enough pressure the missle could popup and decend quickly aim down and then ignite the rocket then, well no more M1.

Please note this bit from the article with regards to the Iran topic:
Most recently (December 2005) Iran was reported to sign a deal estimated at US$ 1 billion covering the procurement of up to 30 TOR M-1 missile systems, modernization of air-force systems and the supply of patrol boats.

And another interesting read on Iran's mixed air defence umbrella:
http://www.defense-update.com/2005/12/irans-point-defense-upgraded.html
And Iran is not the only potential adversary that is equiped with this SAM. China also has it being designated the HQ-17. More reading at FAS:

And Iran is not the only potential adversary that is equiped with this SAM.
TOM-M1 is a very good mobile SAM system, but in an eventual attack on Iran,it wouldn't have much importance, because it is a SHORAD.It has about 12 km range and most important, you can fly above it's maximum height using precision GPS/INS guidance missiles. The Tor is very useful against low flying targets and ballistic missiles. But flying low is imperative only when the enemy has a worthy airforce. In case of a US attack, eliminating Iranian airforce isn't a problem,so the Tor would be mostly limited in antiballistic work.
The S-300 PMU1 is the main problem an attack on Iran would face. That can threaten any aircraft at any height and in 150km range. But i think Iran has only 2 batteries.
