Sehr Geehrt Kameraden!

Is anyone able to advise me where abouts in the SH III program I can find and extract the written records on diplay during a patrol? I do not know if they are retained within the game or not, but if they are, I would like to recover the text messages that appear at the bottom of the screen, the radio log and messages, the Kapitän's log and the statistical data of the patrol.

Many thanks!

1. **_menu.txt stores all the boilerplate text used for messages
2. The .crp file, located in a career save sub-folder (ie 0 = patrol 1 etc) contains the messages of that patrol. Open in any text editor. Of course, the file only exists if you have saved mid-patrol.

Thanks JScones!

I hope you will forgive my ignorance on these matters (old age I think), but where will I find the career save sub folder? If you can tell me the path I should be able to follow it.

I have searched through the folders in the game but to no avail.

I did save several times mid game so hopefully all the data is there.

The reason I want to extract the data is that I write up realistic looking KTB's based on photocopies of real ones that I have obtained. I would like to also include a radio log as well. It is my conribution to a re-enacting group with whom I am involved.

How' sunny Melbourne? I moved to Gosford from Mitcham 6 years ago!

Many thanks for helping out mate!

Cheers, Brad

Hehe, I moved from Lake Macquarie to Blackburn 6 years ago! Actually, my wife's family are your way.

We're movin' to Canberra in a few weeks though.

Anyway, full path to your save games will be: C:\Documents and Settings\<Login Name>\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\<Commander Name>\<Patrol Nb>\

FYI the next release of SH3Cmdr will largely automate what you are wanting to achieve.

Thanks heaps mate!

If you are going to Canberra did you know there will be a big RC Model Sub fest in Woden over Easter? It would be great to catch up.

I can scan my still blank registration application and forward it to you if you would like. Email me on <hmsironduke@ozemail.com.au> and I can forward them to you.

The other thing you can see in Canberra is in the AWM extension, the Treloar Centre in Mitchell where they have the tank I commanded in Vietnam, along with a stack of other good gear.

Cheers

Brad
