OMG! :o
I have enough trouble trying to get into formation with cars. How do they do it with airplanes???

They need to fly some two seaters and give out rides! I would give em my paycheck for a year!

Lots and lots of practice. IIRC, at SUPT(USAF) you get 45 hours of basic formation flying from the T-37's. By the time you get to T-38's, they get you flying advanced formations, tactical, fluid form, etc(another 50-60 hours). And you get more of the same at IFF. Then you get alot more of the same at the RTU. By the time you get to the RTU, you start to get real good at it. And you've got maybe about 350 hours by this time.

Yep, they are the ones Marhkimov. Quite amazing isn't it what can be done in a simulation these days? I'm sure the games companies love these type of guys also because it really is free advertising.

Yeah, these guys were so good, that I felt like advertising them for free. I wonder if I helped to sell any copies of Lock On? :hmm:
You can easily find Lock On at Walmart or Circuit City for $20. There's also a Gold Edition out, which includes the Flaming Cliffs Expansion Pack. The Black Sharks expansion comes out in a few months, and it will include one of those dual-bladed Russian attack choppers (Ka-60???).
LOMAC is awesome!

I bought LOMAC when it first came out but it ran like rubbish on my system. I have just recently bought the addon Flamming Cliffs. There will be a further addon titled Black Shark as you mentioned which will allow you to fly the Ka-50. A few of the best sites for Lomac are:
http://forum.lockon.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=33
http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php
http://www.lockon.ru/index.php?lang=en&end_pos=148&scr=home
I think that this is a great game despite the criticisms levelled at it such as it is no Falcon 4. I wanted to fly Soviet aircraft and this simulation delivered. In the case of the Su-25T aircraft (which is the bulk of the Flamming Cliffs addon), te modeling is on par with the F16 in Falcon 4 or close to.

In the real pics posted, what is the point of flying with their landing gear down?
Wanting to have increased drag perhaps? Perhaps a manouver finishing with a landing?

As far as I know the Blue Angels end their show with some aerobatics in "gear down" instead of "clean" configuration. Since there's more drag and the speed limits go down, it's probably more difficult to fly formation.
It's certainly spectacular...

Konovalov, if you are interested to join an online squad, and if you are interested to fly red planes then join Red Hammers (http://www.vvs504.co.uk/). They are good and helping fellas.
I am away from LockOn for sometime as I was qute busy with projects at my job. Even I work in my dreams while sleeping :shifty:

Would certainly make for slightly slower flybys thus increasing the 'spectacle time'. Good stuff!!
Oh...and Red Arrows  ;) :D

You should have seen the Angels back in the days when they were flying Phantoms-twice the size and weight of the FA-18, a real b**** to handle and they still made it look easy!

I'm kind of wondering if they'll eventually switch to the F/A-18E Super Hornet or the F-35C Naval JSF (when they're in production, of course).

Probably.
I mean, they have upgraded in the past before. I guess they'll do it again when the time is right.

If you've seen one lot 6 airframe, you've seen them all.
Whew! Boy, I mean, those little jewels are OLD. You can tell by the straight COM antennas. Not to mention the DECM antenna.
Honestly, those planes are a testament to the plane design. After all the stress they are subjected to, regardless that they are completely stripped of avionics other than their mission computers, COMS, and microfiche nav-maps (WOW THAT'S OLD! HOLY CHRIST!! THEY PROBABLY STILL USE MAG-TAPES!!), it is highly impressive that the frames hold together.
Those things must leak hyd fluid like nothing else, but one drop of engine oil, and still grounded.
Like I was saying. The engineers did their jobs. The DECM is pittiful poor, but the airframe is strong. Can't break MACH-1 outside of a dive, but it's a strong frame. A worthy successor to the A-10, minus the 30mm depleted uranium shells, of course.
Rest in peace. :rotfl:

I've seen them with the Phantoms. Then they went to the A-4's and I never really cared much for the A-4's.
Am I dating myself here?
