View Full Version : Type XXI Goodies? Schnorkel Radar?

Finally got a XXI and before the seond mission began, upgraded the radar to include the one that sits atop the schnorkel - or so I thought. Spent 1500 of renown, but I'm not sure if the things work. I mean - I tried turning it on with the schnorkel raised, but nothing happened. Am I missing a command?

Also - does anyone think the allied aircraft are WAAAAY too accurate in detecting you when you are schnorkling - even at night?Was their radar REALLY that good?

the allied aircraft thing is a bug, they can see you plainly at night with the snorkel up. Im not sure if theres a fix for it though.

Sensor Pack by Jungman fixes the snorkel bug and several other things.

This is a bug in the game. It will not work. Don't upgrade to this radar.

If you only want the snorchel fix, use Timetravellers Minitweaker tool and change visual min height from 0 to 1 in Ai_sensors.DAT. That'll do it :up:

Recently I read that someone modded / fixed the never-charging to-100% battery of the XXI.

It's a dream boat for me. You can approach a task force silently with 5-6 knots and then dash to 17 knots to hit the main target.

....where can I d/l the Sensor Pack. Sounds just what is needed.

So, I guess I got ripped off with respect to that schnorkel radar?
Bummer....could have used that Renown on some decent torps.
