Anyone else noticed? Is he an artist? Or did he just stole them from someone else? :hulk:
Anyway, nice drawings.

Gimme links to some good Akula charts and images, and we'll see :arrgh!:

oooh, a challenge?!?!
I don't know what I'm getting myself into - eh, I've never seen an Akula outside of Kapitain's sig
But I'd hit it anyway :88)

Out of idle curiosity and ignorance of modern subs by the way - what's the big mast on it for, the one that looks like a snort? (unless that's what it is..) :hmm:

I did draw one when I was in highschool, I remember it came off extrememly good (in pencil) but the drawing is long gone. Can't make a scan. so you have to take my word for it - it really was good. :yep:

Ah, I guess that makes sense.
Kind of odd to put up something that big for ESM, no? Seems like it would be rather detectable. (or I'm living in the past with subs again)
It's a shame I can't find DW in my local stores yet. I'd get to know this boat closer sometime :arrgh!:

It's a shame I can't find DW in my local stores yet. I'd get to know this boat closer sometime :arrgh!: It probably had Radar Absorbent Materials on it, and the mast wouldn't be up for very long unless they were doing ELINT operations. Also the Periscope has a built in ESM system so the ESM/Radar mast wouldn't necessarily be the 1st choice in certain situations.

Radar absorbent material on a radar mast seems unlikely. Your own radar signal has to to through, after all. Radar antenna's aren't easy to hide from other radars anyway, but if you're going to radiate yourself that doesn't matter much - everyone will know you're there anyway. If you're not planning to use radar, then the ESM on the periscope would do the trick.
