SILENT HUNTER 12 INSTALLATION...
I am running Windows XP. Have the Install instructions per SubSim and have gotten to the point of creating the dos icon on desktop. When I attempt to bring up dos prompt for the install proceedure I get the following:
"16 bit MOS-Dos Subsystem
C:\Docume~\Rickco~\Desktop\Silent~\.pdf
C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Micsoft Windows application. Choose close to terminate the application."
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Capt. Rick
Bend, OR eh? I lived there years ago.
Probably an error while making the DOS install shortcut see:

Also see: http://www.subsowespac.org/sh_tech.shtml
Has instructions for DOSBox and other methods.

SH1 on xp:
Create in C
C/DOS and inside create Files, Download, and CDrive
Put DosBox 0.63-win32-installer.exe in C:\Dos\Files.
Then install Dosbox
Destination folder
"C:\DOS\DOSBox-0.63" OK?
Now we change autoexec.bat.
From Start, programs , DOSBox-0.63,
DOSBox.conf
At the end of DOSBox.conf write:
[autoexec]
#Lines in this section will be run at the startup
mount C C:\DOS\CDrive
mount D D:\ -t cdrom
C:
CLS
