Got my patrolzone CF55, so I headed over there from Lorient and did my patroltime. After that I came up with that great idea :up: to head over to Gibraltar.
That was a big mistake, lots of destroyers and very few cargoships. So I surfaced and headed back for the open sea, bad weather with heavy fog. It was boring so I turned up time comp...a few minuts after that one destroyer rammed my side and I was caught in the sleep. Hull integrity went down to 55% and with heavy fog I never got a clear shot at the bastard. Sneaked away in periskopedeapth. It took some time but then there was no more sonarcontact left so I surfaced again and went full ahead for freedom.
Well, that was what I thought. A few mins again next destroyer came up head-on with a good aiming crew. They hit my tower a few times and hull integrity went down to 35%. But this time I got solution and the torp hit with a big bang, everything went up in flames. But there was one more to go, I thought I could sneak away but suddenly he came up on my tail, made the solution and fired away last aft torp and followed it with free cam :lol: . But when it came closer to the destroyer I started to break out in tears and I thought there is no chance this torp is gonna hit.
I crossed my fingers, legs and everything that could be crossed, because the ship was starting to turn and as I followed the torp under water the only thing on my mind was that this is gonna be close, very close. The torp exploded at the very last tip of his aft and started a fire to. He limped a few and started to sink.
Thank you God for magnetic detonation, that saved me that night.... :rock:
