View Full Version : Zombie crew
Help...I've done something goofy...had to reload SH3 several times (computer & video card problems). Now when I install game the crew members in the command room are like "ghosts". The crew on deck is OK. I think I've messed up a config. file. Any advice? Thanks

did you delete the folder? if not when you re- install all the bugs are there
Video card is GeForce 4 4200, driver version 2751 (can't update...computer prob.), have used IUB1.02 and other mods usually with JonesSoft enabler. When re-installing try to wipe out any reference to SH3, including folder, search files etc.,to try and get clean installation.
The only that doesn't seem to work properly is the command crew. I think I killed them and now I want them alive again. Thanks Art

Hmmm a G4, ok I have to admit I not too sure since I am a ATi guy...
I know Pascal had a mod called Zombie crew so thought maybe you using that...otherwise thinking it driver update if you can.
Here is place I get updates for my cards and this one was last one I saw for GeForce...

Have tried to update card (Nvidia drivers) but computer won't let me. Don't think that is the problem though because worked OK before with this version. Did at one time add Pascal uniform mod but deleted it. I suspect when I deleted it (or other mods) it corrupted the config file somehow and I can't figure out how to fix it. Thanks Art

tried and true method is uninstall it all and rebuild - SH3, 1.4, JGSME - that last one being the real secret. Used properly it elminates a lot of hassles.
Computer will not let you? :hmm: Do you mean it gives you an error message? Or maybe AV is blocking. I typically disable my Norton during a driver update.
Or in the case of third party drivers like Omega I get the "not WHQL" message and override it.
Driver updates are near mandatory and reset a lot of registry calls. Even if the old driver worked in past so many things can mod a registry that unless you hit the system with a driver cleaner like DC Pro you are asking for troubles.
Especially if you try and get stopped in an update some of the ini may have executed, dll references changed, etc....
